Kathy Mayfield Kyrish joined the Capital CDC team in November 2005 to serve as Austin Regional Manager. Kathy is responsible for the SBA’s 504 Loan Program in the Central Texas area. The 504 Loan Program is designed to provide long-term, fixed-rate, low-equity financing for the real property / fixed assets needs of small businesses.


Kathy brings over 20 years of economic development experience to Capital CDC including marketing the State of Texas as a place to do business, as well as marketing the communities of Round Rock and Richardson, Texas.


Most recently, Kathy was the Director of Economic Development for the Uptown Houston District, which occupies 500 acres in the Galleria area of Houston, and provides a variety of services and improvements including infrastructure improvements, economic development, and marketing. Kathy focused on identifying and securing opportunities to grow the area's commercial base by building and maintaining strategic partnerships with current real estate brokers, developers, property managers as well as corporate and retail tenants.


Kathy has a Masters of Land Economics and Real Estate from Texas A&M University and Bachelor of Business Administration from Angelo State University. Kathy is a past chair of the Texas Economic Development Council and has been involved in various local and state economic development organizations. She is also a member of the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO).
