Matt McCollum is a Loan Specialist in the Capital CDC’s Loan Processing & Underwriting Department, where he is responsible for the timely and orderly flow of SBA 504 projects from application to pre-closing. Matt’s enthusiasm and experience in commercial loan underwriting, as well as his aptitude for finance and business administration, is a great addition to the Capital CDC team.
Prior to joining the Capital CDC, Matt was a founding member of Wong Diversified International Investments, an investment firm specializing in opportunistic and value-added real estate investments. While at WDII, he assisted in the planning and implementation of the organization's strategic business and financial operations and provided financial due-diligence for all investment acquisition decisions, as well as procuring necessary capital for the business entity.
Prior to his work at WDII, Matt was a Commercial Credit Analyst for two and a half years with the Wells Fargo Business Banking Group, where he was responsible for underwriting complex commercial loan request up to $5 million.
Matt served eight years with the Army National Guard as a Calvary Scout with the 36th ID, stationed here in Austin, TX. During his time in service, he was deployed to the Southeast Texas Coast for Hurricanes Rita and Katrina to assist in humanitarian efforts to supply food and water to the local residents.
Matt earned a B.A in Finance from Texas State University in 2005, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is a member of the National Association of Development Companies (NADCO).
