Capital CDC Appoints New Board President and Vice President

Capital CDC is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Henderson as the new Board President and Paul Reade as Vice President of Capital CDC's Board of Directors. Both Gary (EVP - Chief SBA Officer at Allegiance Bank) and Paul (SBA Lending Manager at Community Bank of Texas, N.A) will serve two-year terms in their new roles. The Board provides leadership to assist in Capital CDC's mission to provide economic resources and competitive capital solutions to maximize the growth potential of small businesses in our communities.

Gary Henderson
Gary Henderson has served on the Capital CDC board for the last 8 years. He has been in banking in the Houston area for 36 years and has spent the last 20 years in SBA Lending. Gary is employed with Houston-based Allegiance Bank, as an Executive Vice President, and oversees the Bank’s SBA loan program. He currently serves as Treasurer for the Houston Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (HAGGL) after serving as President in 2006. Gary serves as Chairman of the National Association of Government Guaranteed (NAGGL) Lenders Region 6 Liaison Committee and is a member of the NAGGL Public Policy Committee. Gary is the only two-time Houston SBA District award winner, being recognized in 2005 as their Financial Services Champion and in 2017 as the Veteran Services Champion. In 2015, Gary was recognized by the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders as their national Champion of Veterans Small Business Lending.

Paul Reade
Paul Reade has served on the Board of Directors for Capital CDC for the last 6 years. Paul's 30-year career in SBA Lending began in Southern California and has continued in Houston with various banks over the last 26 years. In his current role as Executive Vice President of SBA Lending at Community Bank of Texas, N.A., Paul and his team are responsible for originating new SBA loans (7a & 504) and managing an existing SBA loan portfolio of approximately $45 million; and are responsible for over $500 million in SBA loan originations that have benefited small business owners throughout Houston & Texas. Paul also serves as an Advisory Board Member for SCORE Houston, and as a mentor for students participating in Target Evolution’s Teen Biz Camp which empowers teens from LMI areas with the training and tools they need to start small businesses (through an 8-week program offered after school & during the summer).
