The owner of Hub City Fieldhouse, LLC saw a need in the Lubbock community. After spearheading the formation of a youth baseball league – which was very successful – the borrower identified and filled an underserved niche by creating a fun and positive environment for kids to improve their skills, and deepen their love and respect for baseball and softball. Hub City Fieldhouse was born!

With the help of the SBA 504 Loan Program, the real estate was purchased, and improvements were made to the project building to suit occupancy requirements. The loan also financed the purchase of equipment, including baseball training equipment, portable pitching mounds, pitching machines, player benches, spectator bleachers, and computer and office equipment. With this project, seven jobs are expected to be created within the first year of operation, satisfying the SBA job requirement.

The facility currently offers lessons and instructions, coin-operated baseball and softball batting machines, pitching and hitting tunnel rentals, field rentals for team practices, and rental space for birthday parties. Summer camps will also be a staple for the facility. In the future, Hub City Fieldhouse hopes to expand its offerings to include a baseball/softball pro shop, travel teams, other sport opportunities (including kickball, soccer, football, and cheerleading), and a personal fitness area.

Within its first year of operation, Hub City Fieldhouse is already experiencing great success and sees the opportunity for growth in the near future.
