Former KC Lawyer Nominated to top SBA Post

President Barack Obama on Thursday announced the nomination of Douglas Kramer as deputy administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Kramer is a native Kansas Citian who practiced law with Polsinelli PC from 2006 to 2009. He has been general counsel at the U.S. Agency for International Development since 2013, one of many government posts he's held.
He was deputy assistant to the president and staff secretary from 2012 to 2013 and served in the office of White House Counsel, including in the positions of special assistant to the president and associate counsel to the president.
The deputy administrator post is the second-highest position in the SBA. The Senate must consent to Kramer's appointment.
