During National Small Business Week 2017, Capital CDC borrower Diana McPherson with Doodle Bug Square received the Lubbock-West Texas District's "Person of the Year" award!

Diana McPherson, Owner and Director of Doodle Bug Square, oversees the total operation of all DBS child care facilities. Since its inception in February of 2004, DBS has gone from caring for 30 children to providing care for over 500 children with 3 locations.

Doodle Bug Square was born after Diana had a very bad experience with her 1-year-old baby at an in-home daycare facility 11 years ago. After that devastating experience, Diana knew she would never feel comfortable putting her son back in daycare again. There was a need for a facility in Lubbock where parents could drop their kids off and go to work carefree, knowing their child was being loved, protected and cared for in a responsible way. This became her new mission in life: to create the kind of daycare she would want for her own children.

Congratulations, Diana! You deserve it!
