Each year, the SBA recognizes the nation's top supporters of small business, as well as the top small businesses of that year. While many lenders and small business owners will be named and honored at the Small Business Week in June, SBA has already announced the 2013 Small Business Export Lender. The announcement was made at the 6th annual Export Lenders' Roundtable earlier this month, and BBCN Bank is the recipient of this award.

With continued support and facilitation of international trade financing, BBCN Bank has financed almost $13 million in export working capital in 2012. BBCN, which specializes in banking products for small and medium sized businesses, serves a diverse mix of customers that mirror their respective communities, including the largest Korean population concentration outside Korea. The bank holds more than $5 billion in assets and participates in the Preferred Lender Program with the SBA.

This year’s Small Business Week will include forums discussing the small business landscape, business coaching services, matchmaking events, as well as networking opportunities and award ceremonies. The week’s events culminate in Washington, where the 2013 National Small Business Person of the Year will be announced.

Small business owners from all 50 states and territories will be competing for the award. All small businesses that attend will interact with federal government officials, local elected leaders, representatives from national businesses and other small business experts.

Stay tuned for the announcement of winners in June!
